Life, Accident, Health - P&C - 2005 - 2010

Insurance Producer License


An Insurance Producer, commonly known as an insurance agent, is authorized to sell, solicit, or negotiate insurance products on behalf of insurers. Tennessee offers producer licenses in various lines of authority, including:


  • Life Insurance: Covers products that provide payment upon the insured's death.
  • Accident & Health Insurance: Encompasses health and disability insurance products.
  • Property Insurance: Pertains to insurance against loss or damage to property.
  • Casualty Insurance: Involves liability insurance, covering legal liabilities for injuries or damages to others.
  • Personal Lines: Focuses on non-commercial property and casualty insurance products.
  • Variable Life and Variable Annuity: Deals with life insurance and annuity products that include investment components.
  • Title Insurance: Relates to insurance that protects against defects in title to real property.


Licensing Requirements:


  • Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Examination: Pass the state licensing exam for the desired line(s) of authority.
  • Application: Submit an application through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) and pay the applicable fees.
  • Background Check: Undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history record check.

 

Limited Lines Insurance Producer License


This license allows individuals to sell or negotiate specific, limited lines of insurance without the comprehensive requirements of a full producer license. The limited lines include:


  • Credit Insurance: Covers credit life, credit disability, credit property, credit unemployment, involuntary unemployment, mortgage life, mortgage disability, guaranteed automobile protection (GAP), and other insurance forms offered in connection with credit extensions.
  • Travel Insurance: Provides coverage for trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and other travel-related incidents.
  • Crop Insurance: Protects against loss or damage to crops due to natural disasters or loss of revenue due to declines in agricultural commodity prices.
  • Bail Bondsman: Involves the issuance of bail bonds.
  • Title – Practicing Attorney: Allows licensed attorneys to write title insurance as an ancillary part of their law practice.
  • Legal Insurance: Covers specified legal services.


Licensing Requirements:

  • Application: Submit the appropriate application through NIPR with the required fees.

Florida Notary

A Florida Notary Public is a public officer appointed by the Governor of Florida to perform specific notarial acts that involve administering oaths, attesting to signatures, and certifying documents to prevent fraud and ensure the authenticity of the transaction. Limitations and Prohibited Acts:

  • They must refuse service if the signer does not appear willingly or does not understand the document.
